RPM Consulting is an LGBTQ-owned National Standards for Excellence practice.

At RPM Consulting, we specialize in strengthening rapidly growing nonprofits by providing strategies for assessment and growth. As a licensed and certified firm working with clients based in the USA and beyond, we are outstanding at research, evaluation, and resource generation.
Plus, as a nationally licensed Standards for Excellence practice, we tailor our approaches to organizational leaders who want to elevate governance and funding campaign opportunities simultaneously. Our dedicated team has worked with small, mid-sized, and global nonprofits as well as for-profit entities that have an impact investment vehicle for change.
Over 80% of our clients seek assistance in strengthening both their governance and their fundraising strategy to improve sustainable revenue opportunities.

RPM Consulting Group’s (RPMCG’s) approach to its planning, organizational, and fund development strategies is intentionally inclusive, comprehensive, and driven by the participation, insights, and expertise of the community within and a part of our client’s organization, especially the staff/leadership and board. Special consideration or emphasis is often applied to one or more groups based on our client’s needs. Our planning research design is tailored and often involves the leadership team, board of directors, and critical stakeholder groups (i.e., primary referral sources, members, staff, donors, volunteers, partner nonprofits, community leaders, etc.).
Our facilitation dynamic seeks to maintain equity among all parties engaged, while the consulting team will acknowledge previously established protocols in our process. For data collection and discovery, we will hold stakeholder interviews, use surveys, and conduct focus groups for primary data sources to drive our planning processes. We manage and coach for efficiency of a.) the planning process overall, and of b.) the gathering input from stakeholders.
Our Team

Perry Monastero, Ed.D.
Founder & CEO
As a young person, Perry was inspired by his mentors and life-changing volunteer experiences to create a career affecting societal change through nonprofit work. After 25 years in the nonprofit field, he launched RPM Consulting to help nonprofit leaders sustainably scale their organizations.
Perry brings three decades of battle-tested nonprofit experience as a licensed and certified fundraising consultant working with leaders to effectively scale their rapidly growing organizations. He helped to build the initial administrative systems for what ultimately became the nation’s fourth largest private funder and then served as the inaugural executive director of a start-up community fund which raised an estimated $11 million in planned gifts. He served as the chief advancement and revenue leader at one of the nation’s premiere LGBTQ medical and social service organizations to substantially grow their revenue and branding resources during a period of significant organizational growth. His doctoral research focused on utopian economic, religious, political, and social justice organizations aligning their start-up growth to relative external movements within a competitive marketplace of funding.

R Perry Monastero, Principal of RPM Consulting launched his firm after 25 years in the nonprofit field. For Perry, it is a thrill and intrinsically rewarding to partner with a range of executives and leaders to sustainably scale their operations. As a young person, he was significantly and positively impacted by the power and support of nonprofit programs and was inspired to create his life’s mission around being a part of societal change through nonprofit work. Perry recently shared, “The work has never felt like work to me, and yet I know to better improve my service to nonprofit leaders, I have continued to strengthen my knowledge and hone my skills.”
Monastero earned his doctorate from University of Pennsylvania focusing on the history of social-religious-economic justice movements and their associated nonprofits’ presence in a competitive market for funding during the start-up phases.

Early in his career, he served in enrollment management, competitive research, and consulting roles at University of Pennsylvania, BCW (formerly Burson-Marsteller), and Saint Leo University. Next, as a pioneer employee, Monastero helped build the administrative systems for what became the nation’s fourth largest private funder (Wellspring Philanthropic Fund). As the inaugural executive director of a nascent community foundation in Philadelphia (DVLF at the Philadelphia Foundation), he created and developed the fund’s programming, fundraising, and grantmaking while providing direct technical services to over 100 nonprofit groups during his five-year tenure. In addition, with a tiny, shoestring budget, he led the marketing, fundraising, and communications teams at one of the nation’s leading LGBTQ medical, legal, and social service organizations and helped them substantially grow their revenue and branding resources while supporting the CEO and Board Chair to strengthen the 17-member Board of Directors.
